Then the LORD said, "I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son."...So Sarah laughed to herself and thought, "After I am worn out and my master is old, will I now have this pleasure?" Genesis 18:10 & 12 NIV.
When God makes a promise He will keep it, He doesn't "tend to keep it", or "perhaps"...No, He does what He says He will do! Not only did God promise Abraham that his descendants would be like the stars or the grains of sand on the beach, but that was also Sarah's promise.

Are there promises God has made you specifically that you think "How?" or "Ya, Right!"? Sarah's laugh here is that of disbelief and doubt, it is the equivalent of the "Ya, Right!" attitude we can have with God. We can equivocate this reaction to the heart and the lack of hope Sarah had for becoming a mother. She had already given her husband a son with the help of her maidservant Haggar (Genesis 16) and that ended sourly for her own heart, emotions and hope. But God was giving her the renewed hope she needed, giving Sarah a precise time she would become the "mother of nations". The problem was Sarah tried to fulfill the promise on her own instead of waiting on God - which for humans is hard.
God does not make promises which He does not keep. Every word He speaks to us is truth and we should not doubt what He says, yet we do - even when those promises have come true. Here's another question(s)...When God does fulfill His promise are you surprised? Do you remember your reaction to that promise? Was your reaction "How?" or "Ya, Right!" If you read in chapter 15, Abraham laughs too, but his was the opposite of Sarah's reaction. Go back and read chapters 15 -18 of Genesis sometime and relive the promise with Abraham and Sarah. And know that when God speaks to your heart, He will also fulfill that which He speaks. Allow yourself to believe again, refresh your hope in His promise because God always keeps His promises.
