Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him and praise His name.
Psalm 100:4 NIV
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!! Whether you are getting ready to celebrate with family, friends or just quietly at home; I thought of this Scripture yesterday when preparing for our family get-together. This is my favorite verse in this Passage, as it is a reminder of the goodness of God. The entire Psalm focuses on how we, as His Children, should express joy and gladness because of the His faithfulness.
I have witnessed and experienced His goodness and faithfulness, even in the most trying of times, not just in 2020. I have been reminded to be thankful in spite of the current circumstances of our world, nation, and society. What God reminds me of with this Scripture is this, I have many things to be thankful for and to, "ENTER HIS COURTS WITH THANKSGIVING AND PRAISE." Without Jesus sacrifice for my life alone, I would still be walking through life looking for something else to fill me....THAT sacrifice is why I am able to be thankful, to give Him praise, to have joy that makes no sense.
In a year like 2020, Thanksgiving isn't just about the food, football or even the family at our side. It is taking inventory of the life we have right now, in this moment, and can say with certainty that God is with us, with me, with you - right here, right now. Being thankful for the obvious is one thing, but can you/I be thankful for that which we have overlooked or could I say - have taken for granted. God loves us all, giving Himself up for us, and for that I am truly thankful.
Take a minute and to enter His courts with thanksgiving and praise with this beautiful song. And maybe read all of Psalm 100.
Warrior On!
